IBM takes a 3D image an atomic bond photograph was taken of a pentacene molecule of 1.4 nanometers long, made up of 36 atoms, 12 carbon, 14 hydrogen.
The image used an Atomic Force Microscope in a very low absolute temperature of 5 degrees Kelvin and 20 hours of exposure.
The system used by IBM would create tools to view and manipulate the atomic structure of matter.
